Miks and his teammate Dzintars Baltais arrived in Nokia, Finland to participate in Nordic Cup 2008. Track is built in Nokian tyre test facility. It is very fast and quite primitiv – no jumps in dirt section. From Baltic States Andre Kiil (Estonia/S2) have also comed. In raceday morning strange things happen to Miks KTM SXF 250 - the engine does not work properly. This problem gets fixed only few minutes before start. Bad thing is that Miks will have to start from dead last possition and ride almost not knowing the track. Miks 250 is a lot slower than others 450’s, but in Race 2 he passed everyone who possibly he could – 13th place overall in S1 class. Dzintars finished as 23rd and Andre as 9th, both in S2.
 Miks commented : ” I guess we had to change the settings for the bike, because sometimes it felt like the engine would explode - very high rpm’s for a long perriod. But anyway everybody passed me in long straightaways. ”
Very good performance showed fastest fin - Mauno Hermunen. He competed in both, S1 and S2 class, and won all 4 motos.
Finnish guys told us that in winter time they ride ”ice road racing” with spiked tyres on lakes. Speed sometimes is above 200 km/h. Good idea.
