In season 2009 we will using MVD racewear
We have made an agreement with The Netherlands company MVD racewear and will use their equipment for SuperMoto, more precisely – pants, body jacket and gloves. Inventor of this equipment is 2004 European SuperMoto champion, multiple Holland SuperMoto champion and rider with motocross World Championship experience – Marcel van Drunen. When he started riding SuperMoto, he understood that one-piece leather suits limit freedom of movement. That is very important for ex-motocross riders. Company was established in year 2007.
At this moment MVD Racewear SuperMoto equipment is legalized in The Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, USA, Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia motosport federations, in UK you have to zip both parts together. MVD still works with other country federations, so that the equipment could be used everywhere, including European and World SuperMoto Chapmionship.

Miks commented about practical benefits : ” One of the things I didn’t like in SuperMoto was the leather suit. It limited my movement on bike. For example – I’m used to keep my elbows up while riding, but with suit it is very hard. Of course, specialized SuperMoto suits are a bit more flexible, but anyway, I’m not big fan of them. Roadracers don’t have problems like this, but everyone who have motocross background would like MVD better. Safety? I haven’t seen so bad crash where it would be determinant either you have leather suit or separate pants and body jacket. In USA basically everybody rides with separate or even mx gear.”
